The Ministry of Justice's initiative, the "Judicial Consortium Blockchain" (b-JADE), was officially launched on July 13, 2022. In the future, prosecutors, police, investigators, and courts will be able to conduct real-time preservation and verification of cloud-based digital evidence. As the nation's first consortium blockchain, b-JADE holds two significant meanings: first, it demonstrates the judiciary's adaptability to evolving technologies; second, it marks the first official recognition of blockchain technology by the national government.

As the foundational technology provider for b-JADE, our company implemented the Hyperledger Fabric consortium blockchain, offering infrastructure deployment and application development to meet the judiciary's needs for secure evidence sharing, privacy protection, and data authenticity.

Project Scope

  • 1.Node Deployment
    Hyperledger Fabric nodes include different functionalities such as Peer nodes and Orderer nodes. Peer nodes store transaction ledgers and execute smart contracts, while Orderer nodes are responsible for ordering transactions from various nodes and packaging them into blocks for Peer nodes. Our company accomplished the following tasks in this project:
        1.Configuring environment variables and installing necessary components
        2.Implementing cybersecurity measures and firewall configurations
        3.Generating public-private key pairs and digital certificates
        4.Deploying Peer and Orderer nodes
        5.Configuration and testing for operational readiness
  • 2.Smart Contract Development
    Smart contracts are decentralized applications that automatically execute predefined logic under set conditions. They are transparent, traceable, tamper-proof, and non-repudiable, fostering trust among consortium members, improving efficiency, reducing monitoring costs, and mitigating risks. Our responsibilities in this project included:
        1.Based on application requirements and the actual operating environment, we developed and adjusted the corresponding Chaincode scripts. These adjustments ensured compatibility and functionality. Subsequently, we generated the Chaincode package files required for deployment.
        2.After obtaining the corresponding process ID during the judicial consortium blockchain setup, we proceeded to complete the installation and deployment of the Chaincode, ensuring it was fully operational within the blockchain network.
  • 3.Development of On-Chain and Verification Module APIs
    The key feature of blockchain is immutability, which is crucial for proving the integrity and authenticity of evidence. The judicial consortium blockchain emphasizes the preservation, authentication, and verification of digital evidence by comparing on-chain and off-chain data to ensure consistency. In commercial applications, this mechanism enhances trust and validates the authenticity of contracts and documents. Our development efforts included:
        1.Building an application wallet and integrating on-chain module APIs
        2.Developing the application GUI and integrating verification module APIs
        3.Configuration and functional testing to ensure seamless operation
